An engineer/postdoctoral position is available in the group of Pr. Michel Milinkovitch to:
- Develop software for Biological Image Analysis (texture, CT scans,...)
- Develop software for simulations/experiments in Artificial Life;
- Develop hardware for biological image acquisition;
- Participate into the development of software for comparative genomics and large phylogeny inference.
We study evolutionary genetics using an integrative approach (i) requiring mathematical models and computer science tools and (ii) combining molecular and evolutionary developmental genetics, and artificial life experiments.
We are seeking talented, creative, and highly motivated applicants with strong programming skills and strong interest in bioinformatics/evolution. Experience in electronics, mechanics, or optics (development of hardware for biological image acquisition) is a major asset. The position, for 2 years with extension possible up to 6 years, is available immediately (starting date negotiable).
The “section” of Biology has state-of-the-art facilities, provides a multidisciplinary, international environment, and has strong links with the Faculty of Medicine and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.
